Databases
Designing a database to accommodate the various spatial components across objectives is a critical step in ecosystem-based management.

The Pacific Northwest of the United States and Canada is a relatively well studied marine region. There are numerous sources of data encompassing the biological, physical and socioeconomic environments along the outer coasts of Oregon and Washington. The different database components are described in the subsequent pages. Each section has a mapping component that illustrates some of the features put into biodiversity conservation planning and fisheries modeling. To view the mapping of conservation and fisheries targets, threats and managed areas go to these individual sections. Preliminary results and discussion linking biodiversity and fishery production objectives can be found in the Linking Objectives section.
